Bled Slovenia Canyoning
If you are planning a visit to Slovenia, and are looking for things to do, the picturesque town of Bled is a must to see. In addition to its stunning lake and natural beauties it offers many more things to see and experience. Our most popular activity is Slovenia canyoning.
What is canyoning?
Slovenia canyoning is an exciting trip perfect for anyone looking for an adventure activity to add to their visit to Slovenia. You should definitely add it to your Bled activities bucket list. The term describes a descent through the river bed at the bottom of a canyon. It includes jumping into pools of fresh spring water, abseiling down the canyon walls, swimming, hiking and much more.
Caynoning near Lake Bled
The Alpine region of Slovenia is known for its clean and pure rivers, lakes and streams. We invite you to discover and explore them with us. The canyons are located near Lake Bled, within the Bohinj valley. Many canyons in Slovenia are part of national parks and protected areas. We made it our goal to offer everyone a chance to experience Slovenia’s nature first hand. We explore two canyons near Lake Bled, each with its own unique set up of jumps and descents, and abseils.
Canyoning in Bovec near the Soča River
In addition to the amazing things to do in Bled, the town of Bovec near the Soča River also offers amazing outdoor activities, canyoning included. If you get a chance to see the wonder of the “emerald” Soča River, you can also explore the many canyoning options near Bovec.

What do I need for canyoning?
All the equipment needed for a safe canyoning adventure is provided by us; it includes a two piece 5mm thick wetsuit to protect you from the refreshingly cold water, a helmet, climbing harness, and neoprene shoes. You will need to wear a swimsuit underneath the wetsuit, as well as a towel to dry off at the end. A bottle of water to drink is useful as well.
The Lake Bled canyoning adventure (or Bovec) usually takes about 3 – 3.5 hours. We start in Bled or Bovec town, depending on where you are staying. The drive to the parking area at the canyon takes about 15 minutes. Every participant receives their equipment, and changes into the wetsuit. We then go on a short hike to the entry point of the canyoning where we go through the safety procedures. The guides will explain all the necessary safety precautions, and show you how to follow the instructions. The actual descent through the canyon usually takes around two hours, depending on the size of the group. After the trip, we walk back to the van, change clothes, and return back to Lake Bled / Bovec.
In order to ensure the best canyoning experience for everyone, we make safety the first priority on all our trips. Consequently all our guides have every necessary license and plenty of experience. It is very important that every participant listens to the guides’ instructions carefully, and always follows them. There are age and height limits that apply without exceptions. Participants have to be over 150 cm tall.
PLEASE NOTE: Children can attend the activity, if they are 10 years of age or older (as well as over 150 cm tall), and accompanied by a parent or guardian.
